Cactus mix is a specialized potting soil designed to mimic the natural growing conditions of cacti and succulents. This blend ensures excellent drainage and aeration, preventing water retention that can lead to root rot. The mix also usually has a slightly acidic pH, which is ideal for cactus growth. It’s the perfect medium for cacti, succulents, and other plants that require a dry, well-drained environment.

Drainage: Ensure your pots have drainage holes to allow excess water to escape.

Watering: Water plants sparingly and only when the mix is dry to avoid overwatering.

Refreshing Soil: Replace the cactus mix every couple of years or when it becomes compacted, as this can impede drainage and aeration.

Avoiding Contamination: Keep the mix free from contaminants like fallen leaves or other plant debris that can introduce pests or diseases.

Monitoring pH: Occasionally check the pH of the cactus mix and adjust if necessary to maintain a slightly acidic environment.
