Dracaena Draco, also known as the Canary Islands Dragon Tree, is a slow-growing, evergreen tree that is native to subtropical zones. It features a thick, swollen trunk that branches out after flowering, creating an umbrella-like shape. The tree is adorned with rosettes of sword-shaped, blue-green leaves. As a houseplant, it remains much shorter but still produces the same distinctive leaves. Watering: Water when the compost is slightly dry, and reduce watering in winter.
Light: Place in bright, indirect light indoors or dappled sun outdoors.
Soil: Use well-draining, slightly acidic soil.
Fertilizing: Feed monthly with a balanced liquid fertilizer from spring to autumn and stop in winter.
Humidity: Increase humidity levels for houseplants in the winter if needed.
Pruning: If growth is weak, plants can be cut back to within 15cm of the base in spring.
