Dracaena Janet Craig compacta
COMMON NAME: Dracaena Janet Craig
Dracaena ‘Janet Craig’ is an excellent indoor plant. If you don’t consider yourself a green thumb, this may be the plant for you! Prized for its deep green glossy foliage, ‘Janet Craig’ is tough and adaptable. Like other forms of the ‘Cornstalk’ Dracaena, this cultivar will grow in part sun outdoors, as well as in heavy shade or indoors. Compared to other indoor choices, this robust plant is much less susceptible to leaf drop or damping off.
LIGHT:Dracaena janet craig plants grow slowly in low light, but grow much faster in medium light. When the light is extremely low, new leaves are smaller and narrower. Placing a dracaena janet craig in the sun outside for even a few minutes, burns the leaves.
WATERING:When in doubt, do not water! Allow the top 50% of the soil to dry out before watering. The lower the light, the less often a dracaena needs water. Fluoride, chlorine, or salt in the water causes brown leaf tips and yellow spots on the leaves.
SOIL:Dracaenas prefer fast-draining soil combined with lava rocks. Loose, well-aerated soil also works best for this vibrant plant. The plant should be transplanted in spring or summer when it is actively growing. For repotting, choose a larger pot and fill it with potting mix
HUMIDITY:Basic household humidity is sufficient for dracaenas to grow well and look good.
FERTILISER: Once a month, balance NPK: 20-20-20 , keep a few NPK particles in the water.
