Pachira aquatica
COMMON NAME: Money Tree
Pachira aquatica is a fengshui plant, is also sought-after tree that adapts extremely well to being grown indoors. Under fengshui, a properly placed Pachira aquatica in the home or office will create positive energy/chi, bringing prosperity and good luck. As a result, the Money Tree is a fashionable gift for birthdays, weddings and house warmings.
This multi stemmed Money Tree is left unbraided. The top of the Money Tree has the 5-lobed leaf arrangement which is considered lucky. Other names include Malabar or Guiana Chestnut, French Peanut, Saba Nut, Dollar Plant and Provision Tree.
Please note: some leaf loss and stem damage may occur during transit despite our best efforts due to the fragile nature of the stems. This is a fast growing plant and will quickly regenerate new stems during the growing season. Plants are often trimmed back during the winter months in order to encourage good foliage development the following year. The amount of braiding will depend on the maturity of the plant.
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but will tolerate light shade. Avoid direct sunlight. Thrives under fluorescent light, so great for office environments.
Water: Water when the soil has become slightly dry at the top.
Temperature: Pachira aquatica is content in average household conditions 16-24°C. Avoid temperatures below 10°C.
Humidity: Likes increased humidity levels. Use a pebble tray or similar to surround with water.
Feed: Feed once a month with a balanced fertiliser during the growing period.
